On the way of Guoan's appointment of Setien

During the process of selecting a new head coach, Beijing Guoan contacted Jordi Cruyff, who previously coached in Chongqing, as well as Vladimir Weiss, the current head coach of Slovan Bratislava, the leaders of the Slovak league, Serbian coach Slaviša Jokanović, and a Romanian coach. Ultimately, club chairman Zhou Jinhui personally finalized the appointment of 66-year-old Quique Setién.
