After a stunning victory (6-4, 3-6, 6-1)over former Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka in the US Open women's singles, the 30-year-old Wang Yafan has finally, in her 17th Grand Slam main draw appearance, reached the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time.
