Shi Yuqi eliminated by Alex Lanier

In the Japan Open, the top seed in men's singles, Shi Yuqi, was defeated by 19-year-old French rising star Alex Lanier, failing to advance to the final. Shi Yuqi's loss marks that Chinese players have been eliminated from the singles' events from the 2024 Japan Open.
