Quan Hongchan defends her Olympic title

In the women's 10-meter platform diving event, Quan Hongchan defeated Chen Yuxi to win the gold. She became the third athlete, after Fu Mingxia and Chen Ruolin, to successfully defend the championship in this event. At 17 years old, she also became the youngest athlete in Olympic diving history to defend her title.
