Though holding 1-goal advantage, Kawasaki Frontale put more emphasis on the ACL home leg against Shandong Taishan than the Japanese Super Cup. Though Kawasaki Frontale fielded a B-team during the weekend, they still defeated Vissel Kobe 1-0 to win the title.
