Before getting in contact with Kevin Muscat, Shanghai Port had other 4 options: (1) Kim Gi-dong (2) Kim Pan-Gon（3)Aitor Karanka (4) A coach from German Bundesliga. The talks with two European coached have not proceed smoothly, given the 1+1 contract that Shanghai Port offered.
